Cz pre ban magazines
« on: August 20, 2022, 05:32:47 PM »
Are there any mag extensions for the full size 15 round pre bans that is flush fit with the p-01? Looking for something to fill the gap, and the SP01 base pad is sold out everywhere.

The SP-01 mags look like 17 rounders with a +2 base plate. Will this be flush fit with the P-01?

On another note, will the 15 rounder with mag extensions (such as tti or armory craft +4/5) fit an SP-01?

Welcome,

Im not sure you are understanding of what you want or maybe confused on what you want need?

Note, your 15 round mag should be PROUD or Extend beyond your P-01 mag well.  So for the most part, you may want a "filler" for the gap.

your P-01 mag cap should be 14 rounds in the magazine.

someone may have some spring/follower setup to get 1 or 2 more, but i dont know about them.

No.  only a shorter or mag made for the P01 or with the same capacity will fit and fit flush.

you are ADDING capacity or more bullets to the magazine and they have to have space available for that to happen so its longer to fit the extra rounds.

On another note, will the 15 rounder with mag extensions (such as tti or armory craft +4/5) fit an SP-01?

Yes, the other mags will fit as long as they are CZ 75/85 or CZ 75/85 clones that use CZ mags.  Your SP-01 is a CZ 75/85 on steroids more or less.

you may want to take your gun/mag into a gun shop/show in your area where ever that is and ask for any mags you want to buy/use in your gun.

I think you have some confusion going on.

good luck

Sorry for the confusion. Just to explain, I live in a ban state so I can’t have mags over 10 rounds unless they were made before 1994. The pre-ban magazines are 15 rounds, while the ones made after the ban are 16 rounds. By a stroke of luck, I came across a few in a trade. I want to use these magazines in a P-01, but looking for options to eliminate the gap.

This is commonly used as a filler, but it’s sold out and they’ve been trying to restock them since Feb with no luck: https://czcustom.com/cz-parts-all/base-pads-extensions/cz-75-base-pads/cz-sp01-polymer-magazine-base-pad.html

If there are any mag extensions that do double duty of filling up the gap, that would be most ideal. I doubt there is a market for them, since nobody other than a few ban states will use them.

welcome back.

i checked you profile on where you live.

but there was still confusion as to what you have or didnt have.

But as to answer this...

I have not see anything as you want.

Some thoughts...take or leave...

 > use your google fu and keep on searcing.

 > google for anyone with a 3d printer and see if they are willing to print you some.  It wont be free, since it will need to be either reversed engineered or drawn from scratch, but its up to you how much work/effort/$$$ you want to put into this.  But if you want to turn this into a business venture, once you make/design 1 and it works, every other one is just profits and you can just sell them.

 > there are some bakeable polymer clays you can form/shape and then bake to hold its shape.  If its something you want to buy/try and again do, its up to you.

good luck

You might try calling CZ custom for those bases.  The last time I was searching for them (10yrs + ago) I called to get an idea on their expected ETA and they said we have them instock.

I'd also contact Greg Cote LLC to see if he has any as well.

I'm not sure anyone's inventory is correct at this point with all the supply chain issues abound.

Cheers,
Toby

That chart is just one of the many benefits of frequently reading AKfiles.

No matter what capacity the Compact pistol mags were, does the law limit you to Compact magazines only?

The full sized CZ75 mags will fit/work in your CZ Compact.

You can buy a plastic base that fits on a full sized CZ75 9MM pistol that makes those mags "pretty" in a Compact pistol.

They don't make the 16 round full sized magazine longer.  What they do is slide over the bottom of the mag. tube and extend upwards so there is no gap between the bottom of the Compact pistol frame and the bottom of the magazine.  I use them on my P01 pistols (for pretty magazines.)

The UG P01 has the 16 round magazines with that plastic base that extends upwards.

The black P01 had the standard 14 round Compact pistol magazine.

How do you prove a magazine is "pre-ban?"  No dates on them.

You can buy the complete magazines (probably not want you want since they are new.)  Or you can buy some old 16 round magazines (not sure how you prove they are old) and buy the new bases from Greg Cote, LLC.  I've done that a couple times to make 16 round "pretty mags." for my P01s and CZ75 Compact.

The 16 round, 17 round, 18 round and 19 round magazines (if you can prove they are pre-ban and your state's law doesn't keep you from using CZ75/SP01 magazines in a CZ75 Compact/P01/PCR pistol) will all work in your Compact, they just stick out and look funny and you don't really want to carry concealed with a one of them adding an inch or more of length to the frame you're trying to hide.  I carry with the standard magazine in the compact pistol and carry the longer magazines as spares/back ups.  If I've run my pistol magazine empty I don't care if the spare makes the pistol look funny, and I'll be glad to have the extra rounds as well.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?
