Quick trip/short stay.
Sighted in the M&P 1.0 PC 5" 9MM. A pretty pistol with no soul - if a soul is something that helps a gun shoot better.
Replaced the RMR with another (not working right either) RMR a few days ago. Works okay in the sunlight, not worth beans under a roof that blocks the sun.
Hard (very hard) to see the dot and the trigger is still too darn heavy. Feels okay at the house dry firing and then I shoot something else and go to shoot the M&P and I start thinking the safety is on. I struggled big time trying to find that dim dot and had to move the pistol around to finally see the dot against the black of the target. I couldn't see it against the orange center so I would move the pistol around to see the dot on the black and then try to shoot when I couldn't see the dot because then the dot was in the center. I figure I'll end up buying another Holoson if my project to fix these RMRs doesn't work out. That's another story.
12 yds, off hand, my CZ loads of PD 115 grain hollow points and Blue Dot powder. Three low shots, an "up" adjustment and three more shots and the PC pistol went back in the bag. I'd wanted to shoot some of the Winchester 124 grain FMJ NATO ammo through it but didn't want to keep fighting with the RMR.
Like I said, RMR, me wobbling around with it, heavy trigger and ammo I know isn't at it's best in big M&P pistols.
The Shield Plus with the CZ ammo. First three were low and wide. Made an adjustment up and shot three more and went to the Win. 124 grain NATO ammo I already know this pistol likes. I was not happy with that last group even though it was better than the first three. I'm running low on this ammo, too. Ran out of Blue Dot and haven't see it for sale lately. Bought some True Blue and Shooter's World slow burning powders I need to work up some loads with to see if I can duplicate the Blue Dot loads. Just need to get it done.
Like I said, the last three weren't leaving me feeling good as I left the range. When I was cleaning the guns at home later it occurred to me that the comparison groups (in my mind) shot with the older Shield pistols were shot at 7 yds. So maybe the 12 yard three shot group wasn't that bad. Need to shoot it some more and try it at 7 yds. so I can compare it to the older Shields.
Shot a couple 10 shot groups with the 124 grain NATO ammo. This is the second one. Not blaming the three on the right on the pistol. I knew when the low right shot went off it was low right, don't remember thinking the other two were off to the left when the gun fired. I notice I'm really wobbling around with the dot/sights on the target the last couple of range trips. I need to get some small bar bells and start working on my arms/shoulders several times a week.
Good day though. Been wanting to get the RMR sighted in on the 5" M&P and wanting to get some more rounds through the new Plus. So far it's been 100%. Zero function issues with the hollow points or the FMJ.
