And if I remember their website and what David told me correctly with anything under the 13# mainspring have to watch watch what primers and ammunition.
2 I was told are fairly “soft” think one was federals and would normally work with the lighter hammer spring but if want to use a variety of ammo, and it be a defense weapon go with the 13# main spring.
Cgw product description:
"Also included is our music wire 11.5# (HS-12000/black) hammer spring for use virtually all primer brands and types. Delivers an incredible DA in the lower 6# to upper 5# range."
I get all the parts on Monday. Won't be able to hit the range for a few weeks to test it out. I figure the longer firing pin is supposed to help prevent light strikes.
I think you’ll like it.
The longer pin is supposed to help with light strikes.
Are we looking at same website?
NOTE: HS-12000 is a competition spring and is not recommended for any self-defense application. HS-12000 is designed to be used with Federal and Winchester primers, other brands of primers may not run 100%. We suggest you thoroughly range test this spring with other primers to verify reliable ignition.”
The above is why I went with the 13# that came in the kit.
It boiled down to personal preference, and recommendation for defensive firearm to use for me.
We couldn’t be happier with the action and reduction in pull weight with parts we put in it.
Wife couldn’t even hardly get DA to break before putting the kit in it.
She likes it now b
