Oregon magazine ban
« on: December 06, 2022, 11:33:14 AM »
The Oregon magazine ban affects any magazines over 10 rounds. The onus of proof of ownership prior to the bill taking effect is on the magazine owner, not the state.

These are mine, posted before the ban takes effect. Suck it, Oregon.

So let me get this straight... it's OK to take over a city, allow ~40 rapes and several murders, fire bomb the business district until it's a ghost town... as long as you do it with less than 10 rounds.

I just want to have my gun facts straight.

Apparently so - if you do the deed in the name of socialism, it's OK. If you do something in the name of individual freedom and Constitutional rights, it's not OK.
I understand there are multiple lawsuits working against this one, the immediate one failing just today to stop the ban from going into effect on the 8th. However, there is way possible this will stand under Bruen, so I think the wave of bad laws moving up are going to slam directly into the wave of pro rights decisions heading downstream...this will be very interesting to watch play out.
In the meantime, good luck, amigo.

OP, good luck to you. Born and raised in central OR. Left in ‘96 for MT. Never looked back. Always room here, for those that appreciate the constitution.

Remember, mass murderers who have no regard for human life will always respect and obey the 10 rd limit.

I did buy a 10 rounder a while back, and it's what I keep with the firearm. I've always operated on the assumption that 10 rounds will buy me enough time to grab a 30 round mag, and 10 rounds gives me more mobility right off the get go.

But... that's my choice. I want to be the one making that decision. I'm a grown adult, and don't need the state making that decision for me.

Edit: and I like the way it looks with a 10 rd mag.

So how is someone supposed to document ownership prior to ban date??  Sales receipts from many years past??

Methinks posting ALL of your over-10 mags on various forums is a risky thing to do.

I agree. And yes, receipts would be most convenient. I'm just waiting a bit to make sure that the law was in fact shut down in court permanently, and then I'll ask the mods to take this thread down as it violates my right to privacy. IMO.

So you post personal info which in this case are pics of your personal property and leave a taunt in your closing line under the pic and then complain it somehow violates your right to privacy? Please define your logic here. Surely this is a joke, right?
My father many years ago instilled in me the notion that sometimes it's best to keep quiet and not let people know certain things about you or items you possess. No one even law enforcement would know you have high cap mags if you didn't post them and do you think law enforcement couldn't find you even if this thread is removed? Do you not think le types monitor what is being said and posted? I think it best to remember that the only things that have true eternal life on earth are government programs and anything we post on the internet.

This is the reason I have never placed a firearm related/2nd Amendment decal on any of my vehicles.
Why advertise to the general public you probably own firearms-------perhaps inside that parked car.

Open carry outside of the gun range or hunting grounds???  Nope for the same reason.

Sorry for the slight detour.

My relatives, that are still in Oregon, can't believe that the Portland metro area is making decisions and policy for the rest of the state. My reply to them is "well, why do you let them?" Spent my first 38 years there, left in '98 and never looked back. I do miss cemtral/eastern Oregon though. It is truly God's country.

I got a notice after the Portland riots. Even He has moved back to the Appalachian Mountains !  O0

Since you're set on documenting proof with photos, I'd take a photo of yourself with the mags.  Print out a few copies on your home printer.  Then mail them to yourself.  The photos would remain private.

The photo would be evidence of possession and the postmark would be evidence of the date.  When you receive them from USPS, leave them sealed and file them away.
