New CZ 550 Kevlar Varmint owner.

Hi all, I am a new CZ owner.

I have a couple of questions. I am the only person I know in my group who owns a CZ, and information online is a little scarce. I am glad I found this site.

I am looking to scope this. With CZ rings and a heavy barrel that the varmint rifle has, what bell size can I get away with? I would like to step to 50mm, but then 40-42mm may have to be. I am also curious what scope you bought.

Has anyone mounted a bi-pod to these, and if so which ones and how installed did you do it?

Any issues or tweaks I should be concerned about?

I just barely ordered a kevlar varmint in 308, its on the way.  I haven't decided on if I want to go with the fixed 10x elite or the 6x18 buckmaster with turrets, as for the bipod, the regular harris should be fine, just make sure your stock is not touching the barrel when the bipod is mounted, so accuracy does not change, I have never owned a 550, I do have 2 527's that are my favorite rifles

I too am getting ready to order a CZ 550 Varmint with H-S Kevlar stock in 22-250.  I have a similar question on scope mounting. Want to mount a Zeiss 6.5-20x50 scope and wonder which rings I need? I see Leupold, Burris, Millett, and Warne all make them now.  Would prefer Burris, but they only come in Med. height.  Would 50mm Obj. clear barrel?  Want to keep as low as possible.

From what I am told, if you order rings other than from CZ, and want to go 50mm, you need to order high rings due to the action and heavy barrel. Apparently CZ medium's are mostly everyone elses "high".
