Cz83 failure to manually cycle /rack
« on: December 26, 2022, 03:59:50 AM »
Hi there.
I have a technical question regarding my CZ83 edc. Having carried this little wizard for a few months, today when unloading, the slide won't rack. It will move perhaps 2mm backwards and encounters a definite mechanical obstacle.
There are no rounds in chamber.
No magazine in mag well.
Any help appreciated.

And the Safety is OFF ?

Check for a bulged barrel.

Sounds like time to visit a gunsmith.

So, I pried the slide backwards with a medium-sized Screwdriver (very carefully). Took the grips off first so I could see intonthe chamber. Past the sticking-point there wasn't any obstruction. Also dismantled the machine, cleaned, oiled and reassembled. Slide functions fine again. I'll check for barrel bulges, and take it to a smithy before the range.
