QUESTION ABOUT SAO TRIGGERS

Hi,
    Stainless CZ 75B with FPB removed. I just installed an Armory Craft SAO trigger which, apparently,is made by CZ. I haven't yet done the final adjustment; just playing around with it to see how the adjustment works but it doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of pre - travel elimination. So I was wondering, do the CZ, CGW, Eemann Tech SAO trigger all provide more or less reduction of pre-travel, depending on the designer of the trigger? I would think over travel reduction would be dependent on the necessity for sear/hammer clearance but would pre-travel have to do with the design of the trigger. It's not the "blade" trigger it's the "fishhook" one.

Did you remove the disconnector?  (I'm more familiar with the Shadow 2).

A proper SAO trigger will have a pre travel and over travel screw.  So you can tune it to have only 1mm of pretravel if you wanted.  Though more is recommended to provide a reliable reset when the gun heats up during shooting or is dirty.

DA/SA triggers will only have an over travel screw, as it's the disconnector that determines the pretravel on that type of trigger.

You can adjust in either order.  Just be sure to use blue loctite to keep the screws in place.

     Just got done fooling around with it some more. It's better. It seems that sometimes when I adjust the ot screw so the hammer hooks clear the sear then adjust the pt screw to reduce pre-travel to an absolute minimum I have to go back and readjust the ot screw because the hammer hooks are  hitting the sear again.

I don't see how one screw adjustment could effect the other.  I'm guessing you are setting the overtravel screw too tight and are just seeing the slight sear cage movement in the action slightly alter the sear engagement with the hammer hooks.  Have you done anything to stabilize the sear cage?

I'd back off the overtravel screw a half a turn and try again.  There isn't that much benefit to having the overtravel screw set perfectly vs the potential damage to the sear/hammer hook interface.

     I seem to have figured it out and have adjusted it correctly. I haven't done anything to tighten up the sear cage; I can't detect any movement. I loctited the over travel screw this morning and am going to loctite the pre travel screw when I decide how much pre travel I want.
