I have a CZ 512 in .22LR. I took it in to be threaded for a sound moderator and I wanted the barrel cut down to 16.5". My gunsmith said he would do whatever I wanted but told me that he felt that cutting it down could hurt action reliability and cause failures to eject, especially with subsonics. I had the barrel threaded at full length. I really wanted the shorter barrel. The Dead Air Mask would have brought the total length back to about the original barrel length. Thoughts?
