New PCR
« on: February 10, 2023, 06:22:11 PM »
I purchased a new PCR today. That makes my third CZ, a Shadow 2 and a PO1 Omega. I was really looking for a regular PO1 but the PCR was the only one in stock. After handling it I went with it I’m feeling good about it now.

When I got home I gave it a clean and lube. After I lubed it and prior to full assembly, I placed the bare slide on the frame to check tightness. There is no wiggle room at all. Same for the barrel and bushing.

After that I headed to the pasture. I only fired a 10 yards. I fired 50 rounds of 124 grain Blazer Brass. No issues and the accuracy was great. I then fired 45 rounds (all I had of this load) of my reloads consisting of 124 grain fmj and small rifle primers. They all fired with great indentations.

Like I mentioned, I was impressed with it’s accuracy. Only thing I kept noticing I was shooting slightly to the left. I then noticed the rear sight was noticeably off center to the left. That’ll be a job either tonight or tomorrow for my sight pusher.

Another thing is one of the magazines is different from all my other CZ magazines. The witness holes are at the rear instead of the side. Also it was catchy in loading but worked fine. It does have the CZ Republic emblem stamped on it. I just thought it was a little odd.

The trigger pulls are fine, no issue.

So far, I’m well pleased with it.

Well you now have the best all around handgun there is. I see you're making a point again though to bring up your use of srp's. You likely will have no issue firing them as long as that gun remains in it's stock form but if you start reducing power on the hammer spring you may well experience light strikes as you posted about in another thread. As to the variation in magazines without a picture it's hard to say what's going on there. I've owned many CZ's and always gotten a pair of identical mags with them.

Only spring I may change out is the trigger return spring along with the floating trigger pin. After I get a few more rounds thru it, I’ll order a set of night sights for it.

The DA trigger pull is shorter on my PCR than on my PO1, which is a plus for me. I tried them side by side.
A very pleasant DA pull and it will only get better. I hope the SA pull stays at 3.75# on the PCR and not get lighter. The PO1’s SA pull is 3# which in my opinion is a shade light for a carry gun.

Also, I noticed not only the hammer is narrow on the PCR, the ears rear of the slide is narrower.

After wife and I went to eat, I moved the rear sight to the center and cleaned and relubed it. Hopefully that will center my groups. I mentioned previously that I was hitting slightly to the left and then noticed the rear sight was left of center. I’ll try it out again tomorrow if the rain holds off.

I hate that my reply is within the quote. Forgive me for not paying attention.

Bought a P01 several months ago, it too came with mags that have witness holes in the back and has blued finish vs the paint like finish Mec gar use.

My guess, Mec gar can't supply the demand, so CZ is getting them from ACT mag.  I have 4 or so full size ACT and they are a dead ringer.

Your P-01 is an Omega and the PCR is the standard 75 series action. two completely different animals.

That’s very obvious. I was just pointing out some differences between the two.

My new 2022 P01 ? came with those mags too.  They are 15 round mags.  Then I bought two 10 round mags from Greg Cote and were just marked MEC-GAR Made in Italy witness holes on the side.with more of the ACT style finish on them.  I see where a lot of gun companies use popular mags instead of having its own mag.  That is handy when you have  different guns use the same mags.  These I got from Cote are like that.  Here is the description on the mag and they work fine.  I like 10 round mags for range work and great for $22.

CZ 75 Compact, CZ PCR, CZ P-01, CZ75C Massada and Springfield P9 Compact, CANIK SHARK-C, CANICK 55 STINGRAY COMPACT, TRISTAR C-100, TRISTAR P100 AND TRISTAR T100 10 round 9mm blued Mec-Gar magazine MGCZCOMP10B.
