527 Mag Problems Continue!!!!!
« on: July 02, 2005, 05:54:25 AM »
Gents:

One of my favorite rifles of all time, the 7.62x39 CZ 527 still has occaisional problems with reliable feeding even after having CZ replace all 3 of my mags.

The problem seems to be a combination of the positioning of the spring on the base of the follower compounded by generally weak spring tension.

I am wondering if anyone knows where a stronger spring might be found that I could use to experiment with on these mags.

I have checked Wolff, but no go.  They do not show a mag spring for the CZ 527.

Any ideas about ANY other rifle mag spring that MIGHT work, even with some modification?

I want to keep these 3 mags 5-shotters if possible.

Thanks!

Does your problem only occur at the last cartridge?

Mostly it is the third in a full mag, then the 4th or 5th may balk also.

If CZ won't fix this I'd like to find some other mag spring that might work, even if I have to alter the size in some way.

Any ideas?

the problem in both my CZ's is too much spring tension, in fact I leave the mags loaded when I store them, its helped a bunch

That is really interesting.

How many mags do you have, what caliber is your rifle, and roughly how long did it take for the improvement in feeding to occur?

Do the .223's have the same feeding problems?
