Factory SAO Triggers
« on: March 04, 2023, 02:03:29 PM »

Other than personal preference what is the advantage or disadvantage of each of these triggers.
The first one with the small curve at the bottom I installed on my cz 97. Works great.super short reset.
The shadow 2 SAO comes with the 3rd curved target trigger. Pros? Cons? Of each different design?

The target trigger seems to have a bit longer LOP.
Also some people have issues with pinching their fingers between the bottom of the trigger and frame.  I could see how a different shape might solve the problem.

Out of these three, aside from a small adjustment to the Length of Pull as noted above, it is just personal preference. I prefer the non flat ones because they feel more like a DA/SA Trigger. These three also have some radius to the Trigger face that i prefer because it is more inline with a DA/SA Trigger.

I think the Target Trigger looks the coolest. Looks like It's going fast.  ;D

I printed my own trigger to increase the overall reach for my large hands.  I designed a small nub at the bottom to help locate the finger.  Otherwise I like the flat profile.  I also wanted the trigger face to be vertical at rest (not angled forward or backward).  I think that helps provide a consistent reach and presentation on the clock in USPSA.

When I designed the trigger above I went through a number of iterations that also included just a flat profile.  Ultimately I chose to include a slight recession to help locate the finger and provide a constant finger placement.  The TSO (and other SAO CZ's) have a very short, light trigger pull so it isn't as important to have consistent finger location.  With enough dryfire, it becomes unconscious.  I also printed a DA/SA trigger for my Accushadow 2, and it has a curve to it.  With the long DA first shot pull, it helps to have your finger properly located.  Plus due to the long pull, the trigger has to fit in the trigger guard throughout the stroke.

Cheers,
Toby
