My CZ550 Laminate Varminter
« on: October 10, 2003, 08:19:55 AM »
:D I just want to share my pleasure with my new CZ550 Laminate Varminter in .22-250.  I actually purchased it as a used rifle from my gun shop.  I have topped it with a Nikon 6.5-20X44 AO scope and have started reloading for it.  Initially, my groups with commerial ammo were poor for a heavy barrel varminter, about 1.25".  I was so concerned, I actually considered rebarreling.  Instead, I decided to take up reloading and the results have been outstanding.  My final handloads, using Hornady 50 gn. VMax and IMR4064 powder is giving me a 5 shot group @ 100yds of .221".  :rollin :rollin This from a stock rifle.

Here's a link to pictures of my CZ550 Laminate and my 100yd target.

That stock looks better in the flesh than the artist rendition which shows up on the CZ-USA e-site:D

Great work with your reload.

I have the CZ550 Varmit Lamanate in .308 and I love it. Now, I just need to work on my rifle technique so I know if I need to tweak my reloads. I'm not nearly as good as the gun is ;)
