CZ 527 trigger
« on: October 22, 2003, 12:43:59 PM »
There are four adjustments on the 527 trigger and before I start turning screws I would appreciate some direction.
Figure 5 in the manual: (A) Trigger pull (weight?) If I loosen the nut and turn the threaded rod clockwise will that increase or decrease pull weight?
Figure 5 (B) Trigger travel before (take up of slack before trigger weight engages?) Clockwise = more or less travel?
Figure 5 (C) Trigger travel after (how far trigger travels after the hammer falls) Loosen nut & clockwise = more or less?
Figure 6 Set trigger screw. Clockwise= lighter & more sensitive?
My trigger with the bolt cocked and the set trigger not engaged is loose. You can wiggle it forward & backward. With the set trigger engaged the trigger is tight with no movement.
Which of the above four adjustments will eliminate this wiggle or is something I have to live with.
Thanks for any replies that will save me the time of guessing which way to turn for the desired results.

Sorry but my  CZ-527 is at the hunting lodge, hope you can get enough detail by clicking on:

 www.cz-usa.com/support.da..._527US.pdf

If you search CZ-USA by clicking on the top banner(the rifle) of this section you'll end up at CZ-USA's web site. You should attempt this if a trigger-weight scale is available, if not I would highly suggest going to a local smith0]  which will charge you a minimal cost>:  and set the trigger at a low pull weight YET SAFE:rolleyes

Fred,
I have looked at page seven which describes the basic operation but I was looking for which way to turn screws to get the desired results. I was also concerned about the wobble in the trigger when not in the set mode.
I did call Mike at CZ but I  didn't get clear specific information from him regarding which way to turn stuff and he couldn't answer my question about the trigger wobble.
