With the hunter population dindling down here in Canada:eek , a question arrises to my mind(the question came up by assuming the lower h.p. is due to a low birth rate, you'll understand): who introduced you to rifles: father:hat , friend:evil , Boy Scouts:D ,???

I learned mainly on my own with a little help from my oldest brother. My father died when I was 11 & growing up on a dairy farm I never lacked a place to hunt & shoot.

My first shooting experience was thru pelletguns, later on tried a Cooey(old Canadian subsidary of Winchester which when out of the circuit) model 64(if memory serves me right).22 l.r. semi-auto, this design was sold to Savage and they're exploiting it with a new stock. This baby had feeding problem which could not be remidied(feeding ramp/magazine housing was made out of the same cast alloy=cra_), shot this rifle for 2 summers (day & night) with 2 of my buddies. We got pretty good, then with the same bunch we elevated to a center-fire rifle: .303 British which was a sporter made by Parker-Hale.

Nowadays I barely have time to go to the range, a word of wisedom to young riflemen(have fun while you can:D
