Bul Cherokee? 75B clone?
« on: March 13, 2023, 08:52:02 PM »
Never heard of it before, but just saw video talking about Bul Cherokee being basically a polymer framed CZ75 clone.
Anyone know anything about it?
From what I’ve found barrel lugs and cam are same as CZ, and seems interesting.

I think they were made on the tanfoglio technical data package if I remember correctly

CowboyIlija97 is quite correct.  :)

The BUL Cherokee Pistols are of a slightly modified Tanfoglio design and some Tanfoglio parts will interchange.

FWIW, BUL also makes the IWI Jericho 941 series and the MRI Baby Eagle Series Pistols, which are also modified Tanfoglio designs.

The only one that I've had the privilege to shoot has been an MRI Baby Eagle, which seriously impressed me.
Very very accurate!!!

For under $400 for full size I will say it’s tempting to try one out.
All compacts are about $100 higher or I’d consider one of those.

BUL makes a really nice 1911, tight and accurate, plays well above its price point.

If you are looking for a CZ 75 compact sized pistol, used SAR B6C are very affordable and decent pistols, IMI Jericho is available in a compact in both polymer and steel frame but the steel ones go for nearly as much as a CZ from what I’ve seen.

But if you want the real thing, consider a CZ P-07. You can get one new for $410 + 20 shipping here and they do not charge sales tax (need to add to cart to see lowest price):

I have been looking at a used Bul Cherokee in a pawn shop for over a year now. They still have it marked at $300. I am almost ready to take the plunge and buy it. I was worried about parts and magazine availability. I know that some Tangfolio and other clones dont always use CZ75/Mecgar mags.

I know that some Tangfolio and other clones dont always use CZ75/Mecgar mags.

The standard 16 round Cz75B Magazines sometimes come up a bit short, depending upon tolerances.
The Mec-Gar 17 and 19 round Cz75B Magazines have a much better track record of working in the Clones.

Bul also makes the 1911 marketed by Magnum Research. I have a commander, and its a great gun for the money.

Saw a Bul Cherokee at a local shop recently.  I was very unimpressed by the trigger.

I have a Bul Cherokee and numerous other CZ75 clones.  The Bul Cherokee is a decent gun, but I think there are better alternatives.  The SAR B6 or B6C are less expensive.  I don't care for the aggressive texture of the Bul Cherokee's grip.

FWIW, BUL also makes the IWI Jericho 941 series and the MRI Baby Eagle Series Pistols, which are also modified Tanfoglio designs.
I do not believe that this is correct.  While IWI did at one point make the Baby Eagle pistols, BUL at some point took over the manufacturing of them.  IWI manufactures the Jericho 941 pistols.

I have the most recent version of the Cherokee, a 2019 model. On the inside of the slide it’s stamped “FT IT 19” for Fratelli Tanfoglio Italy 2019. Very reliable and easy to work on. I’m in the process of fitting the Cherokee compact slide to an IFG/Tanfoglio Defiant steel frame. I’m gettin antsy too, lol.
