CZ Model 527 Firing pin spring retainer
« on: April 17, 2023, 09:24:28 AM »
Hoping to get a 527 back in service.  Need the firing pin spring retainer.  CZ has orphaned this gun and the usual parts sources are nada.  The retainer broke and the owner lost the pieces so I have no idea what it looks like to make a new one.   Lacking the actual part, detailed photos or drawing, especially the inside shape will help.  Thanks.

The piece you're asking about is .350" round in diameter by about .375" long, the hole that the firing pin passes thru is actually square though. The firing pin is pretty much the mirror image of the spring collars square hole. The collar is actually a pain to take off and replace under spring tension. The collar pushes on and turns 90* to lock on to the firing pin.

Been awhile since I've had call to take apart a CZ 527 firing pin assembly. First the collar is .396" long not the .375 as first stated. Anyway, the first two pictures show the firing pin. The upper photo shows the firing pins rear collar locking lug. It is a 90* turn to release or lock on the collar. The front square collar hole is about .170"X.170" and the rear collar hole is a rectangle about .170" by .245". Tried to show the rectangular hole in the third from top photo. The two square/rectangular collar holes are separated by a circular groove that's larger than .238" diameter by .075" thick. Those are the measurements of the firing pins collar locking lug. The grooves dimensions need to be larger than stated as the collar needs to be able to move forward and back around the firing pins collar lug. Bottom picture shows about where the groove needs to be in the collar. I don't have a good way to measure the inside of the collar.
