Along with the CZ 2075 RAMI subcompact CZ-USA will be offering the CZ550 Safari Magnum in "American" straight comb stock rather than the traditional European hogback.  American black walnut is standard with a fancy grade available on request.  Also new is a .458 Lott chambering.
The heavy barreled CZ 550 Varmint model in .308 and 22-250 will also be available in an HS Precision stock later this year. :D
Seems CZ-USA has been checking out the posts here!

Regards,
Travis

CZ's 550 Varmint in H.S. Precsion stock will ensure a stable platform, lets hope the fore-end is wide as to ride sandbags easily and that they put an accessory rail in the fore-end.Anyway now we'll be able to compare with other mfgr. what this action is realy capable of.:D

While on the subject H.S. Precision used to make a fine silhoutte handgun stock, it would be so sweet to have one of these mated to a CZ barrelled action.:D

The new CZ 550 Magnum in American black walnut will be an instant classic which rifle-buff will speak for a long time in admiration of quality rifles.

The .458 Lott was a plain step-up in the .458 evolotion, nothing needed more than a chamber reamer. I'll be doing hand-flips when they decide to chamber their rifle in .338 Rem. Mag.(the ideal multi-purpose rifle).

Same vel as 300 win mag using less powder, and unlike the 300WM it shoots light bullets well.  Should feed smoother than the 300WM as well (same length difference as between the 458WM and 458 Lott, plus those long sloping shoulders).

Unfortunately, the 30H&H can't be finish-reamed from a 300WM chamber, since the case tapers are different.

Is this a possible solution?: getting a CZ-550 .30-06 barrel and getting it reamed(sorry no express-sight). This would be valid in the CZ 550 and not the CZ 550 Magnum version.

Your right the .300 H & H is a fine round which was prematurely put in retirement by the gun industry.

Kochy Brothers(Brno chief engineers), Bill Ruger(Sturm Ruger's President), Harry Lawson(President of an American rifle stock mfgr. which pionneered the thumb-hole stock), and a whole bunch of other people had one thing in common: Insight.

In these days of shareholders trimestrial reports, C.A.D./C.A.M.,etc. it's very dissapointing to see the gun industry not having any serious insight, insight was what gun designers, engineers used to have to foresee what the public wanted. These days gun companies are like copy-cats: one company gets out a certain Monte-Carlo, Classic, Europeen stock and the competitor does the same stock designs etc. Companies used to go and take a bunch of outsiders just to get brainstorming new ideas. The industry needs new blood.

O.K., O.K. I'll get off my soap box, I just got fired up by seeing a car documentary talking about the Ford Mustang Daisy/Shelby which showed what company had(fire for guts) a passion for their work and were'nt dictated by money alone.
