Parker Mountain Machine Comp on P10s?
« on: June 08, 2023, 09:26:40 AM »

Hey gang, I was curious if anyone has tried putting a comp on their P10s? Both parker mountain machine and herrington arms make great looking comps for the P10c and f, but say they won't fit on the s. I assume thats because the guide rod is bigger and sticks out of the gun, more so than the c and f models. Recently I got a dpms guide rod for my p10s and noticed it was a bit smaller in size than the stock guide rod, it made me wonder if it would be possible to run a comp with this guide rod. What do you guys think? Does anyone have a comp that they can get me a rough measurement of the guide rod hole size in the comp? That would be greatly appreciated before I took a $100 gamble. I've reached out to parker mountain machine but have not heard back yet, I will post what they say. Happy shooting friends

Unfortunately can't help you on the PMM comp side, but a comp that I am fairly certain will work is the Volker Precision Universal Comp.  I run one on my SP01 and it has tons of guide rod clearance. It compensates fairly well and since it is steel it adds a bit more weight than a comparable aluminum comp, which helps as well.  Just food for thought.

Also, what is that thread protector and how do you like it? I have had bad luck with the stock CZ thread protectors and finding a suitable o-ring that will keep them tight on for extended range sessions.

This is the stock thread protector that came with the killer innovations barrel. It seems to work pretty good.

That is a nice comp, I considered one for my sp01 too.

Parker mountain machine emailed me back and said. “ By the measurements it looks like it could work, the spring box relief on the comp is 10mm wide.  I can not confirm it will work though as they do not work on a stock p10s”

They said I could test fit one and if it didn’t work I could send it back. I’m going to roll the dice and try it, I’ll report back with my findings.

I’ve got about 200 rounds and can say this setup is working 100% with 115 gr blazer brass so far. It’s far less snappy than stock and is quite a nice shooter.

I've got one on my Walther and I love the PMM. Can't go wrong with it.
