CGW Adjustable Sear
« on: June 30, 2023, 10:58:36 AM »
I know the main function of this sear is to provide an easier way to fit the cam to the safety and keep the safety functional when installing a competition hammer.

However a crisper break is also advertised over the factory sear by employing a secondary angle. Can someone explain what this means and has a crisper break been your experience when installing this sear with a competition hammer. Thanks!

Short explanation -

CGW sear has re-designed angle (geometry) to reduce "hooking" angle; thus less or no camming
CGW sear is mirror polished carbon steel; thus less friction than the OEM sear

Less camming and friction translate into a cleaner break vs the OEM sear.

Normally, race/competition hammer and sear go together to maximize the advantages of the CGW sear.

It's basically a "gritty and heavy trigger pull vs smoother and lighter trigger pull" experience.

Sulpgnir, just keep on sharing those great pics.

Is it okay if I save them to my PC?  I've taken comparison pics before but mine aren't in the same class with yours.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Of course it's okay to save them.  I often refer back to them for comparisons and sharing.

FYI, my setup is an old iPhone (8 generations back  ;D ) and a clip-on macro lens adapter for close up shots.

I didn't even know they made clip on lenses.

I take pictures with mine, just not very good ones. ;D

Also note that when you install the CGW  sear you can then flip the safety on and off with the hammer down. Just note that this is a No No. Be aware.
