NEW Holosun 507Comp on an A-01 slide
« on: August 08, 2023, 12:56:07 PM »
Hey guys, I have an old CZ 75 build that I converted to SAO and then added a bull shadow slide. Well then I came across a chromed A-01 slide with Optics cut and plate here on the forums. I nabbed it FASSSST and the holosun 507Comp just arrived at the LGS. Matches this thursday and Saturday so we will see how she runs.
Anyone else running this sight yet? What dot/ring combo would you use for bullseye or USPSA shooting (plan to do both).
Here is the test fitting:

Have a great week! Spew the pew!

I installed a 507 c on a TS 40S&W with a dovetail mount but haven't gotten around to shooting it yet. It seems to be easy to pick up the dot at least dry firing not sure about real life. I do like the ability to use either dot or dot with circle.
I would like to mount one on my Sabatti double rifle chambered for 9.3×74r but I haven't been able to find a base for the European 12mm rib. I suppose I'll need to make a base  adapter if I want to go that route.
Good luck with its maiden run.

I replaced the 507 with the 507COMP on my BS and I like it.  I probably will get one for my A-01 and have the slide milled.

About a month ago CZC finished up milling one of my BS slides for their steel mount plate for a RMR footprint. (For my 507 comp) . It’s really good…. The slide that was redone had a direct mounted Burris FF3. That Burris was mounted as low as possible without exposing the firing pin channel. The CZC machining and plate actually much lower. The channel is exposed and the bottom of the plate is also machined to “partner” with the exposed channel of the slide. Bottom line is the plate mount is almost (if not the same) just as low as a direct mounted 507 comp but a much much stronger mount platform.  Weight wise a complete Bull Shadow slide with the 507 comp ready to install and shoot comes in weighing .4 ounces more than a ready to shoot Bull Shadow slide with iron sights ….  When I weighed the two slides side by side I was really happy..  .4 ounces!!  That’s nothing..It was also only 2 or 3 clicks from being zeroed out of the box. That was probably luck but still. Ha ha ha.       Reticle wise that’s up to the person but on other red dots I kinda preferred a big ring and small do but on this big screen tv has me back to 2.5 dot .  For steel I use the small 2.5 dot and small 8 ring The small dot and the small ring is just like a 8 dot.
One thing for sure imo is the buttons are really small and close together. You will go through some gymnastics at first turning it off.  It has wake awake so mine now live in the safe on….       By the way buy a Range Panda cover for the 507 comp. I think as of right now they MIGHT be the only ones out. That big screen tv loves to pick up fingerprints….

Trijicon sued Holosun over the button placement, they were stacked like Trijicon and were much easier to use.

In case anyone wants to see how the bladetech holster fits.

I cut 1/8" off the end of the holster and radiused the corners where the front of the sight hits the holster. Hit holds good now. I've used Bladeteks before and ordered from Ben Stoeger. Dry fire is all good.
