CZ Custom 75 Bullseye 9mm
« on: August 14, 2023, 08:50:58 AM »
Good Day All:  I am relatively new to this forum having joined after I received my first CZ pistol which is a Shadow 2 Optic Ready.  I guess I am late to the CZ party, but I do own several very nice pistols of Sig, Smith and Wesson and Colt manufacture.  I have been quite impressed with my Shadow 2 not only in how well it shoots, but with the relative ease of disassembly and in obtaining parts for this firearm.  If there was one down side to this pistol for me, it is the overall weight of it.  I'm not a young buckeroo anymore and the weight of this pistol is a concern, but not a deal breaker by any means.  In my advancing age I find myself doing more pistol shooting than rifle just because it's easier getting stuff to the range.

Looking at the CZ Custom Shop there is one pistol that caught my eye and I am wondering if anyone has one and can offer any comments on it.  That pistol would be the CZ 75 Bullseye 9mm.  It certainly looks like a well made pistol, but impressions from a website can be deceiving.  I have already contacted CZ Custom and asked about getting a specific trigger weight and optic cut on this pistol which they said they could do for a package price of $2,250.00.  I would appreciate any comments on this pistol good or bad before I spend a chunk of change on it.  Thanks in advance.  I should add that I already have 2 Colt Gold Cups in 9mm and .45 ACP and I have 2 older Smith and Wesson Model 52's one of which has a Clark barrel installed, so I am familiar with bullseye guns and "the game", but my days of one-handed shooting are waning.

Welcome

Sorry, i dont have what you are looking at. I got one of the previous versions CZ custom was building...

im not sure how you do things or want to do things.

But when it comes to new guns and if you aren't sure you want to spend ANY money one one, i would do my hardest to find one to feel/touch..ect.   Im not sure where you live but even if you have to make a weekend of it to feel/touch/try one, i would do that.

do you have any friends that shoot? coworkers/friends/family?  Ask them too.

Look for any gun rental/ranges where you live and again, even if you have to make a weekend trip.

Do you have any gun shows where you live or again where you can visit for a weekend?

from the CZ that i got that predates what you want, i wouldnt have any issues dropping the $$ and getting it.  Also since i love the CZs that i have i dont have a problem buying another one.  Just like the Colts, S&W, Sigs, brownings, EAAs..ect.

as far as not being a young buck anyone...im 61 y/o to be 62.   what if found out and im sure you have too and others, is that if you dont use, you lose.  Such as muscle tone..ect.   If you end up shooting (more) you will find that eventually, over time you will be able to handle the extra weight.  IF not, enjoy it while you can and then sell/trade it.  Did you look at the weight??   what do you have in your collection that maybe close in weight?   You can see how that fits if you have something.  not the shootings but the weight since that is your concerned.

good luck

Thanks for the reply bang bang.  If I could find someone, anyone with one of these pistols in my area it would have already been done.  My circle of shooting friends don't have a lot of CZ's so this entire desire to ask about a Custom 75 Bullseye pistol takes on a whole new meaning for me.  I would have no problem finding a Pardini to shoot if I wanted to, but the CZ Bullseye pistol is a different animal altogether.

Living in California I could not purchase this gun from CZC but I did send them my 75 SA frame and they put the Bullseye upper on it for me. I will say this is not my first TS upper on a 75 frame but is my first with the barrel bushing. At the age of 65 I will say that the difference in accuracy between the standard TS upper and the barrel bushing is minimal but with a better shooter or on a bench rest I'm sure there would be more of a difference. I at one time did have a Shadow 2 but sold it due to the weight of it. Being a casual shooter I just didn't see myself enjoying shooting the Shadow 2 over my Bullseye because of the weight difference. I have somewhat become a nut on putting TS uppers on the smaller frames. I have 3 75 SA, one 75b one SP01 and am experimenting right now with one on a P01 frame. Sometime I wonder if I enjoy changing parts more than shooting them. Honestly I don't think you will be disappointed if you buy one of these guns. Here's a couple of pics (hopefully) of a few of mine. On the Bullseye one the frame is actually sliver not white I'm just bad at taking pics.

Reviving this thread I know, but I am a humble owner of one of these beauties.  It have nothing negative to report.  Frankly, it's everything the CZ-75B SA couldn't be at it's price point.

I got mine because the original CZ-75 frame still fits me the best, so what's not to love about a match-grade, hand-fit upper?

Thanks for the reply Pierce Koontz.  Do you find your CZ 75 Bullseye pistol very accurate?  Do you have an idea on what it has for trigger pull weight?  I am still thinking of getting one of these Bullseye pistols, but I just ordered a CZ Shadow Compact to go with my full size Shadow 2.  I have to wait for more funds...
