My contact at CGW asked me to send him the Slide so he can look at it.  Hopefully, it's something simple.  He assures me the 13# spring isn't an issue.  We'll see what he says next week.  Crossing fingers.
If they only want the slide that leads me to believe that they are looking for possibly a burr or other obstruction in the fp channel or they think the fpb plunger could be releasing the fp slightly late and causing a drag slowing the momentum of the firing pin. I will be curious as well to see what they say.

I will definitely let you know.  Very curious.  I offered to send the whole gun, but he only wanted the slide.  We'll see!

Inspecting the firing pin and components is something you can do at home with about 20min (being generous) and a 3mm punch.

Honestly I'd be looking at it myself before sending it in.

Cheers,
Toby

For sure, but they offered to look at it.  I figured I'd send it in in case they needed to replace anything.  Once I got in there, I really could only assess if it was dirty, or something was obviously wrong.  The bummer is the wait...though expedited it's still going to be a week or two.

Since CGW installed the kit they should be the ones to inspect whatever they feel they need to look at on their dime. That IS what you paid for after all.

Well I will be interested to see what CGW says and what remedy they provide. I had used the 13lb spring previously without issue in 2 different guns and to be honest I even used one in a Beretta 92FS without issue but those springs were purchased several years ago. The recent (post plandemic) versions I got with actually 4 different pro packs gave light strikes with known hard primers which is why I moved to the 15lb spring and that cured the issue.

Si Vis, update...
I sent in the slide and they let me know there is nothing wrong with it. So, now they had me send in the lower (as you suggested). I offered to send it all in, but they only wanted slide.  So, hopefully I'll hear back next week...

Ugh! That sucks. Those guys know what they are doing I just don't understand why they didn't have you send in the entire pistol from the get go. Hopefully now they'll have an answer for you. Keep us posted.

Update:  Spoke today to Andrew at CGW who's taken over things with me.  He's been great.  Can't say enough about how well these guys at CGW all treated me as a customer.  They definitely make you feel like your gun seriously matters to them.

So, they got my lower and tested/checked things and said...everything's perfect.  I was hoping there was a simple "issue" that we could have solved.  He's gone through my upper/slide and lower and everything is exactly how they want it with the install.  Good news I guess.

Given that I've had these lite strike issues, he installed a #15 lb spring and will be sending my #13 lb back with the gun as well.  We discussed running it with the #15 which should help a bit giving a slightly stronger DA pull.  The DA with the blue #13 spring was 7 lbs - 5 oz.  With the #15 he tested it at 7 lbs - 12 oz..  SA went from 3 lbs - 8 oz to 3 lbs - 9 oz.

Will see how it feels and get to the range...

Yep the 15lb spring is the one I went to and that resolved all the light strikes I was having albeit not nearly as pronounced as yours were. Hope it runs 100% now.

Are you happy with the trigger overall with the #15?  Did you ever consider going back to the #13?  I'll be interesting to see how this works out.  Thanks again...

I'm completely satisfied with the 15lb spring and ALL my CZ's have been 100% with it. I honestly don't feel any difference in SA and the difference in DA is so minor changing back just makes no sense at this point. I'll be staying with the 15lb spring.

Update September 8th:
Took the P-01 to the range with my newly installed #15 lb Hammer Spring.  I fired about 250-300 rounds with ZERO issues.  After having 3-4 lite strikes per outing, this was more satisfying that I thought it would be.  I purposefully used LAX RELOADED Ammo and Freedom Munitions ammo for the most part since I had some issues with those previously.  Zero issues.

I "think" I can feel that the DA pull is slightly stiffer with the #15 vs the #13.  But, it is still super smooth.  Andrew at CGW tested the trigger and it was DA = 7lbs-12oz vs 7lbs-5oz (about 1/2 lb more).  SA was virtually the same going from 3.8 to 3.9.

Thanks for the advice and comments.  Hope this thread helps someone else down the road.  It's an interesting situation.  CGW fully stands by their #13lb hammer spring with thousand and thousands of CZ's running with it successfully.  For some reason mine wasn't.  I didn't ask them to put the #15 in, but they suggested we try it.  So far, it seems to be the right solution for my P-01.

*By the way, I'm not sure why this was moved out of the Cajun Gun Works forum into the Ammunition forum.  I had ammunition issues, but due to the issues occurring with numerous brands of ammo, the solution was with the gun/pro-kit etc.  I think this is more useful as a discussion in the CGW thread...???

Good deal. Glad it all worked out. I think CGW may simply need to face the possibility that they got some 13lb springs that are not up to par.

Do you know what trigger pull weight you are getting with your #15 hammer spring?

Nope and honestly I don't even care about the actual "weight" don't even own a trigger scale. I go with what my finger likes and it likes my CZ's set up as they are.
