75 compact with safety
« on: September 15, 2023, 03:44:07 PM »
Yesterday I found a 75Compact with the manual safety. Up till now, every CZ I've had has had a decocker. I couldn't pass this up though. It's a '22 model, as far as we could tell, it's unfired. It was bought at one local store, traded in at the store I was at. The original receipt was still in it. He had paid about $625 for it. My shop had it for sale as used at $450.
With the manual safety, is it okay to put it at half cock with a round in the chamber? Should I manually decock it, or trust in the safety?
I love these compacts. They are great guns.
I've found that growing up in the sixties was a lot more fun than being in my sixties.

You can carry it at half cock for a DA first shot or at full cock safety on condition one like a 1911 for a SA first shot. Nothing wrong with the safety on these guns at all.

Just learn to safely lower the hammer (I believe that blocking the hammer with the weak hand thumb then rolling it off is safest) and you are GTG.  The safety model generally has a better trigger because the CZ was originally designed for a safety - NOT a decocker.  But as stated carrying like a 1911 is fine.  Now you have a gun that can do both.

That is a smoking deal.  Good job.  They are great guns.

I bought a slightly used one about 2013 for $300 with only one mag.  Foolishly sold it and regretted it.

Last spring I was able to find a new one on sale for a little over $500 (of course plus shipping, tax, and transfer).  This one will never be sold until I go toe up.

Great deal on your find.  I too will buy another one if I find a deal like that.
