Shadow 2 CO ejection problem solved
« on: October 11, 2023, 04:25:38 PM »
I picked up a used Shadow 2, sent it off to CGW for weight reduction and optics cut, mounted a 507c ACS and was excited to shoot the gun upon its return. Unfortunately, I could not get 100 rounds through the gun without a FTE. Bought a new spring, pin, and extractor and still had the same problems. 1 or 2 malfunctions per 100 rounds. (No good for competitive shooting). I tried several recoil springs in a tuners kit but no luck. 13 pound recoil spring with 15 pound hammer spring seemed to work best but still occasional FTE. I am happy to report that an extra power spring from Midway seems to have fixed the problem. I fired 250 rounds with no issues. I plan to run another 250 through the gun without cleaning the gun to make sure. All fired cases ejected 6 and 8 feet in a nice small pile. Prior to the extra power spring, spent cases would sometimes fall short letting me know that a FTE was coming soon. Just wanted to share, if someone is going through the struggle. It was a journey to get here but MAN does it shoot good. Fast and Flat.

Ps.- all possible ammo related problems checked during the journey, EI- plunk test, case gauge every round, factory vs reload, marked mags. Problem was definitely ejector spring related. Hope this helps someone. Thanks

I think you mean extractor spring.  Two of my five CZ75s have the extra power extractor springs from Wolff.
