What on God's green earth have I done and how do I fix it?

Recoil spring is in there, slide won't stay back.

Recoil rod kicks to the side when pulling slide back.

When you pull the takedown things down the slide slightly goes forward and when you pull the trigger the slide goes back.

Without the takedown things down the trigger works fine.

Cannot take the pistol down to fix it!

You set the recoil spring in place wrong. I did the same thing and it took me a while before I was able to get it apart. Once I put the recoil spring back in the little notch where it belonged, everything worked fine and I went to the gun range and shot 100 rounds through it.

How can I do that? I can't even get in there to adjust it.

Finally got it, WHAT THE WORLD?!?!

I basically just pulled back on the slide and wiggled the guide rod.

I wish I could help you more. But I had to keep messing with it for about 10 minutes before I could get the slide off. Basically locks the gun up, but I messed with it long enough till it finally came apart. I swore I would never put it back together without making sure the guide rod was sitting in the right location.

Awesome! Yeah, from now on just make sure the guide rod sits in the little notch and you will not have that issue ever.

I've done that a few times..... I never know how I got it back apart. Lol... I just keep playing with it till it comes apart.

Now if you really wanna have some fun... Put it back together without the recoil spring. I've forgotten to out it in a couple times and it wasn't fun.

This can and does happen with many pistols. I've had it happen with my standard CZ 75 variants. What happens when the guide rod is not in the correct centered position is that it then doesn't seat into the pocket in the frame where it rides when the gun is assembled. Normally I can get the guide rod to snap in place by wiggling it at the front.
