Is there a downside to the reach reduction kit on the Rami?
« on: November 05, 2023, 09:23:10 PM »
I shot the new rami D for the first time.  I kinda hate it; mostly due to the trigger bite.  I'm considering the cajun gun works pro upgrade kit.  I have large hands and I don't know if I need the reach reduction part of that kit.

I also shot my newly aquired cz75 pre B.  That is a delight to shoot in comparison.

Does anyone know of any down sides to the reach reduction on the Rami?

Thx

Howdy from Sacramento area!

I have good size hands also, and I also didn't like the trigger bite on my Rami.  I attributed the bite to the curvature of the trigger.  I've since changed out the triggers on all my CZs (Rami, P01, and SP01) to the CGW "old style" trigger and added their floating trigger pin as well.  The curvature of the old style is less pronounced than factory and definitely has made my CZs a pleasure to shoot.

And the triggers are easy to change out, IMO.  Lots of vids online showing how.

Good luck!

I would highly recommend the Cajun gun Works Pro package. I love my Rami and shoot it as well as my 75 compact:

I did the reach reduction kit, old style trigger and race hammer. No more trigger bite and although the change in trigger pull was minimal if feels much lighter. Pistol is great and I enjoy taking it to the range.

Thanks,

I ended up ordering the pro upgrade kit with reach reduction,  the black ring hammer and flat da/SA trigger in black.  It has the hybrid disconnector.  This will be the most advanced upgrade I have ever done.  I want the Rami to work for me, at pressent,  it is not fun to shoot.

If you have large hands I wouldn't opt for the reach reduction disconnector and just get the type 2 disconnector.  The trigger swap itself will help with trigger bite.

The rest of the kit will make everything better, pull weight, smoothness, crispness, etc...

Toby

Did you bob the hammer yourself or what hammer is that?

I don't see a benefit to the rrk when used on a de-cocker pistol. When the hammer is cocked, the trigger moves back anyway. The only benefit I see is for safety models when you manually lower the hammer.

I had my gunsmith bob the hammer that came with the cajun standard package and its been working pretty nicely, I use the RAMI as a pocket gun if im going to a gas station or whatever.

Nice.  That is a chunky pocket carry for sure.
