I shot this a couple weeks ago, went back today and paid the less than 4 bills, to the surprise of a few other store customers.
Spent an hour with the guys in the store, stripping it and checking it out completely, and its amazing how well kept it is. No wear on the trigger/frame area, hammer and sear look like they are straight from the factory, and the barrel looks like new, razor sharp locking lugs, and better, more crisp rifling than my 2004 75SA.
It's been with an old collector for 30 years, before that it was in service, and clearly, there is slight bluing wear from the clasp of a holster on the other side of the frame (slight), and a light softening of the blueing on the top of the frame, again from holster use. aside from that no other damage or scratches. Im certain it also hasnt seen much use, here in the netherlands I beleive police are only required to make a small amount of range time a year, maybe less than 100/200 shots.
I load light (3.6gr N320), and this beauty will be used in competition (EPP, Military, Service Pistol). I do want to source some of the original bakelite square checkered grips.
To my question - I’ve never seen one with a black trigger, do you think it was a personal preference from the original owner or was it an option?
One more question, is it worth or possible to cold blue any of the small holster wear areas?
