I may need a new cocking piece for my BRNO 21.  Any idea what can be used?

I'm sorry but I cant help. I just hate to see someone post and get no responses. I did some looking around and did not find a source for a new cocking piece.
What's wrong with the old one? Some gunsmiths can re-work or even fabricate parts to serve in place of hard to find, missing parts.

Someone started to modify it for a winchester side swing style safety.   dont know if it has been modified too much.  the original safety is missing.  A standard mauser 98 with a sporter flag is in its place.  That makes me think the cocking piece is not special and just about any 98 could be modified to work by a competent smith.  I will ship it to a smith to see if he can get the winchester style safety to work.

nice rifle.  double set triggers are intact.  the top has NOT been drill and tapped, it has a side mount scope, so the nice engraving on top is intact.  It has a custom barrel in 257 Roberts with NEGC sights.  Talley sling band on the barrel.

Sounds neat. Hope you get the cocking piece/safety issue sorted out.

All I know about them is from an old hunting partner. Guy LOVED his gun. His only wish was that he had a “later” model. His was “old” and had a rounded top. The “new” ones had a grooved top receiver for adding a scope and a reshaped handle for clearance. The action was supposedly smoother because the bolt had a supported guide. Not 100% sure on my memory but it could impact what you are looking for. Don’t lose your rear sight either — he had a heck of a time getting that replaced/fixed. All I heard about for 2 seasons  :D
