527 223 - is this test target good, or bad?
« on: January 21, 2024, 09:49:59 AM »
Hello, guys! First I must apologize for my bad English :(

I have the opportunity to buy a new rifle, 527 American 223, that has this test target:

Excellent, good, bad...?

Thanks in advance!

Just my opinion but it seems the test targets rarely represent actual accuracy. The targets are shot more as a function test rather than the shooter trying for the rifle's ultimate accuracy. Your target is in the average, good range but the rifles probably capable of finer shooting.

Since English is not your primary language, he is saying that the target is "typical" of what comes with all new CZ rifles. But the rifle is proabably capable of much better accuracy, especially if you handload.

Looks like just over 3/5's of an inch at 50 meters.  One hundred meters could be around 1 inch, 1 MOA.  Or just a little over that.  Still not bad.

Not bad for a factory rifle with factory ammo.   Could be this rifle shoots that ammo very well.  More likely you can find some factory ammo that shoots better or if you reload, you can develop some much better shooting ammo.

Looks like a good rifle to enjoy finding a good load for.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

The CZ test targets have been a function test and not an accuracy test. Don't pay them much mind. One of the best shooting 455s I've seen had one of the worst test targets I've seen. There is no correlation between test target and how accurate the gun actually is.
