527 in 7.62x39 122 gr vs 154gr ?

Does the 527 show a preference for standard weight bullets (122 gr)? 

I'd like to use some Tula 154 gr for hunting, but if accuracy is off.... then I'll stick with standard weight.

What have people found?

I've heard that CZ rifles were made to use Eastern European ammo, where copper-washed steel jackets are common.  In another thread, a writer (sam-in-oregon) called the CZ factory, and they said that steel jackets were fine. 

Isn't the term "steel jacketed" is a misnomer.  They aren't hardened steel, but soft iron.  Admittedly, soft iron is still harder than copper.

However, I am open to learn more.  Are there any references on this?  The military uses hardened steel AP bullets, so they must have done some studies.

I have a large pile of the 154 gr wolf ammo, while I've loaded some other bullet weights, it is for the most part all that my 527 has shot. It shoots very well, very accurate and has been very effective on deer and hogs. From what I have read, the 527 was designed to handle such ammo, and mine in fact does.

I intended to experiment with some 150 gr bullets meant for British .303, see if I could duplicate/approximate the same load and performance.....but haven't gotten around to that.

Thanks for the info.  I picked up some 154 gr myself.  Heard that with the sanctions against Russia we might have problems getting ammo from them, at least right now.

Let me know how the 303 bullets work out.
