Hello,
I am trying to figure out the serial numbers on CZ handguns. I know the date comes from the date in the circle.
However, what I am wondering is if the serial numbers are created in chronological order, no matter if it is a PCR or a 75B.
I have a PCR and just got a 75B top end. The 75B top end has the same year code as my PCR, but the serial number is about 86,000 higher than the PCR.
I was wondering if that means it was made/stamped later in the year, or if they reserve serial numbers for the model produced and then issue/stamp them as they come out of the factory. What I am trying to say is, could the CZ 75B that the upper is from have been produced earlier in the year, even if the serial number is about 85K higher than the PCR?
If serial number blocks were reserved as part of a plan, I can see this happening.
If serial numbers are issued stricktly on a first-assembled/fitted = first to be stamped with serial number, then the PCR was made earlier in the year.
Any insights you can offer?
Thank you
