CZ 550 FS reassembly issue with front action screw purchase
« on: March 04, 2024, 11:46:01 AM »
I disassembled my CZ 550 FS for cleaning and upon reassembly found I could not get my front action screw (.66") long to purchase into the front action hole. The floor plate fits flush, the back action screw fits fine, the front cap screw is in place, but even a local gunsmith's armorer was unable to get the front action screw to purchase. I called CZ, their operating system is temporarily being updated, migrating to another system etc, and can offer no help  on procedures on the discontinued medium action 9.3 550 FS.
Anyone here ever have and solve this issue?

I'm not taking anything apart to look, I simply can't remember if the action screws were of different lengths or the same length. Is it possible that you mixed the screws up and are trying to get the rear screw to work in the front position?

If not I can't imagine why. The action screws fit before and you say everything is together as it should be- except the screw won't reach the threads (correct?) So.....I dunno.
It's not saving any water if you have to flush it over and over....
