So many other things going on, though the wife's cancer treatments are pretty much done, just regular checkups are all that's left. So, today, I had a revolver returned to me from the gunsmith after he repaired it. Now this is an Uberti 1873 Cattleman II Birds Head, the Old Model frame. I bought this almost on a whim, and immediately found out that NEW Uberti is NOT the same as OLD Uberti. COVID and the Plandemic hammered Italy hard, and the black powder firearms manufacturers there apparently took quite a hit. My older Uberti revolvers have been outstanding - this one needed help right from the get-go.
First, and this is a well-known problem with SAA revolvers - she shot low left. You'd think they could adjust for this, right?

Well, know, and it's very common, to the point one guy said that he though Vaquero, (the Ruger Single Action cowboy gun), meant "low left!"! So, contacted my favorite gunsmith guy, and he VERY carefully tweaked that front sight. Da Boy and I were firing it last week after getting it back. and while it was shooting to point of aim, suddenly the hammer didn't want to lock back in full cock. So, I contacted another local gunsmith who is very knowledgeable about the inside of a revolver...and what he found was startling. Apparently, the bolt pin and a few others were not very captive and were "walking" out. He checked by cycling the action and noted the pins were moving in their holes even without recoil! So, he fixed everything, upgraded the springs and lube, and I picked it up today at noon. Of course I am going to test fire, right?

Admittedly, targets were shot at 11 paces, not long range really.

That looks good! Better double check.

OK, I'm convinced, everything works just fine. I shot about 75 rounds all with similar results, much happier
Now, to keep it CZ related, I finally replaced the 4X BRAVO 3 Prism scope on the BREN 2 with another Sig Romeo5. Thise red dots just seem to work very, very well. I have only one pic from that - the last group fired at 50 yards with M855, the notoriously inaccurate military round. I think I'm OK. That's 5 rounds, BTW.

Last but not least, Da Boy was shooting his P-10S and complaining he was hitting the steel target only infrequently, and stated he needs to get more trigger time on his little pistol. I looked at where his target was and told him I have no sympathy...see that steel back up against the berm? That's what he was shooting at with a P-10S with iron sights.

That's 80 yards...I'd be thrilled to hit it ONCE with a subcompact handgun at 80 flipping yards! He misses a few times and gets irked...
All in all, an excellent range trip, and FINALLY getting some time on the line.
