CGW Pro Kit
« on: March 10, 2024, 02:46:57 PM »
Hi All,

New here, but not too new to armoring work :)

I have a P-01, and ordered the CGW Pro kit.  It does NOT come with the slave pin for the sear cage.

I have watched a few videos, where people have used qtips, tooth picks, the main spring pin, etc...  Do I really need this?
Does anyone have the dimensions for the pin?   Could I make one from stock from the hardware store?

Thanks in advance!
Joe

I’ve used a punch and toothpick as a slave pin.  My favorite is a tooth pick as it’s part of my sear cage assembly work flow when installing L spring into FPS—I pull the spring down and then shove it through the whole assembly

Try some bamboo skewers . I get them from the market and they come in different sizes.  They are quite tough also. You can [ush on the tip of a spring end even.

As others have said, you can get toothpicks or bamboo skewers or Q-tips for nothing or next to nothing. But I actually have my eye on those special spring tools that EemannTech makes:

the trigger return spring tool...

and the sear spring tool...

I'm too new to CZ's and gunsmithing to have used them personally. And I'm sure many people will ask why they need fancy brass tools at $30-40 each if a toothpick will work. But from the looks of these videos, you can install these springs that people often struggle with in 3 seconds with no problems whatsoever.  Just a thought.

I have done over a dozen Pro Package upgrades. Initially I used a toothpick but then I bought the EEMANN tools and have been smiling ever since

Will Eemann ship to the US?  I couldn't find a US dealer shown on their website.
