I've busted my hump trying to figure this one out. Basically a stupid family member loaned this to another stupid one and now it's mine because of the condition it's in. Which is fine, we all know CZ steel holds like a boss. But it's definitely a CZ52'ish but says CZ 53 and I can't find any information about it online except others saying it don't exist. It seems one person found images of a CZ52 saying it's a 53 but nobody believed them because they didn't have the pictures, well here they are.

The heck is this? It's longer than any 52 which I own plenty of, way longer in fact. I'm sorry forgive the condition it wasn't my fault, I have no effing idea how you get a gun in this condition leaving it in your drawer for less than a year. I also got a Ruger P85 but it's in even worse condition ugh

And I went through all the books about CZ I have, none spoke about a lengthened model nor could I find any information about derivatives of this model as there seems to be none. I'm so frustrated lol

Sorry, I'm on my phone so it's really hard to imbed them with tiny buttons and big hands. Sorry, if I did anything wrong, I'm just quite frustrated at this when I thought I was pretty CZ savy  :P

This is the only other place online I found any mention of a similar gun and it's also labeled non-officially as an CZ 53 and has a longer barrel featured on mine

I have a pair of 52's.  The ones pictured look like standard issue 52's just like mine.  Can you provide a pic of the '53' marking?  Both of mine have a 'Crossed Swords 53' mark on the right side.  Without looking it up, I believe it's an acceptance mark.

My CZ52 was also made in 1953 and bears the same marks.
Cold War Pistols of Czechoslovakia has a rather large section on the CZ 52 with many photos supporting the apparent history 1952-1954 of the design.

As already indicated, proof/acceptance year and not a model number.
