Charging Handle: Right Out of the Box

So, I recently bought a Bren 2 MS 5.56 with the 8 inch barrel. What I noticed right from the unboxing is that the charging handle seems to have a little play/wobble to it. It functions as it should and the action seems pretty smooth but is it normal for this gun? I've bought/owned a decent amount of guns and this is a new experience.

It’s normal for the charging handle to wiggle a little bit. Of course, it’s removable and reversible, so that would make sense.

Thanks for the info. Is going with an aftermarket charging handle a good choice, and if so what do you recommend?

I like this one from HBI. They also make one that’s offset downward in case you have any interference with your optic while chambering a round. The OEM charger was too small and uncomfortable to me.

I like this folding charging handle. It's a little pricey, but it's nice how it lays flatter for putting the Bren in a case.
