Sounds like you're new to guns.
If it's stamped 9MM it is a centerfire.
I would not dry fire without a snapcap or o-ring. Some pistols can damage the firing pin retaining pin pretty quickly. That's the roll pin (pin with a hole in the center) you can see if you look at either side of the slide between the ejection port and rear sight. It holds the firing pin in place in side the slide. Dry firing smacks the notch in the firing pin into the back of the firing pin retaining pin pretty hard if you don't use either a snap cap or "rubber" o-ring to control the forward movement of the firing pin when the hammer strikes it. If you do a search on the forum here you can find lots of posts about the o-rings. What to get, places to get them, reminders to remove them when done with your dry fire session.
Yes, the P07 has a firing pin block to keep the firing pin from moving forward to strike the primer unless the trigger is pulled.
The P07 can be an awesome pistol. I'm still carrying mine (old DUTY model bought 12 years ago or so). Between buying it and today I've bought SIG, M&P, FNS, XD and other CZ pistols and those are in safes while the old P07 keeps getting carried/used several times a week.
