Western WA regionals (IDPA)
« on: April 28, 2024, 09:54:52 PM »
I participated in the 2nd Western WA Regionals this weekend, shooting my P10c in CCP div.  Only had one minor issue with a suspect mag during one stage.  Gun ran fine with the other mags.  It’s essentially stock with night fision sights.

Did well, missing taking first in my classification by 1/2 second to another good shooter, so while it’s disappointing, I’m pleased with my performance.  More importantly I had a good time.

The P10c is one of my preferred polymer striker guns- simply works for me.

Thanks Joe.  While I wish I was 1 second faster, it was a good time working & shooting the match.  I’ve shot my P10c, SP01T, P01 Omega at sanctioned matches with success, but had more fun with the CZs for some reason.

That said, next sanctioned match, I’ll be shooting revolver :D

I have a GP-100 in .357 magnum that I rarely shoot because I can't stand a revolver grip, but it is a fine firearm with no lock-up deficiencies to worry about!  I never learned how to handle reloads quickly on a revolver.  I love the DA revolver trigger but that was back in the days when I shot IDPA with Sig P-226 with DA first shot anyway, so that helped.

I’ll be shooting my 3” GP100 WC at our local ICORE match tomorrow.  I intend on shooting it at the next sanctioned IDPA match I’ll attend in July

A follow up on my last sanctioned match, came in 2nd in Revo division.  Was a fun and challenging match.

Am back to the P10c for the next match, Idaho State IDPA, next month.  However, this time I’ll be using a P10c that was gifted to me by a buddy who has significant medical challenges.  My hope is I can give a good showing with his gun, being motivated by his indomitable spirit as he battles his condition.  Watching him shoot is inspirational.

Will report back later

Happy to report I came in 3d in my division (CCP) in the Idaho State championship this weekend.  A fun challenging , well run match.

The gun ran fine- I did well until I began to tire and performed poorly on the last 2 stages.

I also worked the match, noticing several CZs in use,  but didn’t see any other P10s which surprised me.

Now to figure out which of my other CZs to use for the next season :D

Great to read that you had a good match!    Good that you used your friend's P-10C, I bet he was happy that you had a good result with his pistol.

I know a lot about getting tired toward the end of the shooting session.  For me, it is currently eyesight, but I may have made some progress on addressing that, as I picked up a new prescription last week and will get to try it on Wednesday of this week, but only at 100 yards.  It will be a few weeks before I can make it back to the 200 yard range.

Joe- thanks for the kind words- fully understand about vision- I have some vision challenges & my shooting glasses have my dominant eye prescription set for the front sight & the left eye set for distance.

Am hoping my vision won’t deteriorate more, but I suspect it will over time.  I’ll continue to enjoy myself, I’ll just need to adjust my expectations

Decided to shoot my cajunized PCR at our local monthly IDPA match this Sat.  Only reservation is, I suspect I’ll have some challenges with the aftermarket (CZC) sights I had installed.  The older I get, the more I need bold front sight.

These are good sights, so no slight on CZC, I just need a bold front sight.  I may change out to FO, similar to my P01 Omega.

I’ll report back on the results .  Obligatory pic with PCR on top

What trigger is that on your P01?  it looks flat and thin?

Cheers,
Toby

My P01 is an Omega variant , hence the straighter trigger.
