I am a long time lurker and first time poster.
I am more of a rifle and shotgun shooter, but I do do some revolver and semi-auto shooting a few times a year, meaning I have some experience but am far from an expert with handguns. I have a few P-07s in 9mm in my collection and really like them. I have shot a lot of different pistols, and I think the P-07 is the best personal defense pistol currently available for my use.
I am now looking for a .40 S&W pistol. This will be for carry in the woods for use against both two-legged and four-legged varmints. Naturally, my first choice is a CZ SA/DA model, and I am thinking that the P-9 looks like a good option. It seems like the P-09 is easier to find in .40 S&W vs the P-07, and I like the idea of a slightly bigger gun for the slightly hotter cartridge over the 9mm. I know the P-09 in .40 S&W was discontinued in 2018, but I am happy buying used.
My question is: is there a preferred gen model or year of manufacture for the P-09 in .40 S&W?
Thanks.
