An impulse purchase
« on: May 17, 2024, 01:05:16 PM »
I don't normally buy firearms on an impulse but I did recently and I'm not regretting it. My  recent purchase is a 9mm carry size single stack pistol that is as accurate as a target pistol, the single action is smooth and the trigger is light and crisp and the slide feels like It's on bearings. I know a lot of you will think I've lost my mind but I love everything about my new Sig p210 Custom Carry except for the laser engraving. It reminds me of my old Colt 1911 38 super only in a Commander size frame.

That is interesting.  I always wanted to shoot a P210 full size when I was shooting Sig P-226 series pistols in IDPA.  My favorite is a P226 Stainless Elite model, even over an X5, which I also have.  The X5 had unreliable extraction which even Gray Guns couldn't make perfect at the time.  I'm betting they finally came up with a good solution but it is a safe queen now.  Congrats on the new pistol.

I picked up a p210 for my wife because she has small hands ans cannot wrap a double stack. Great gun, I shoot it more than she does. Good buy

The only thing I don’t like is the strong recoil spring.  It’s difficult to rack in the heat with sweaty hands. I looked for ones with less weight with no luck.   I talked with Sig and they say there aren’t options.  The designers feel the current weight is best and won’t say what it is.  I also talked with EAA out of Pa and Wolff and neither knows about replacement.  Wolff said they could make one if they had a pistol to look at.  One online person felt the weight is 22 lbs which is amazing.

They’re sweet shooters but it’s not a carry gun. It’s a BBQ gun.
