CZ 75 Compact thumb safety and other questions
« on: June 19, 2024, 07:46:20 PM »
Hello,
I recently shot a friends CZ 75 Compact and fell in love with it, but I felt the safety lever was too small.

Which large safety levers will fit? Will the CZ 75 TS2 lever fit? Which ambi safetys will fit?

And I'm confused about the 75 Compact and the SP 01. Are they the same? Will all parts interchange between them? I've read about people recommending parts for the SP 01 and simultaneously recommended the same parts for the 75 Compacts.

Where do you recommend I get night sights from?

Thank you.

Most CZ 75 variants share many of the same internal and some external parts. Do your own research on what fits what across the lines. Cajun Gun Works has a good interchange tool on their site to help with this.
Ambi safeties will not fit the 75B compact as the right side of the frame is not machined for one to fit.
Night sights are a personal preference so you'll need to look at those yourself and pick what appeals to you. Dawson Precision, Night Fision, Mepro-Lite as well as CZ-Custom all carry night sights that will fit the 75B compact.

The safety lever is too small. To my knowledge, none of the large ones fit. In fact, when I asked Cajun about this, they told me if I found one that did fit,  to tell them. It's annoying as all get out that CZ won't make a larger safety for the compacts.

I find the safety to be just about right. Anything bigger would be in my way. You could always buy an extra safety lever and build your own.

I agree. It's a self defense/carry gun. I'd rather not have a bigger/bulkier safety on it.

I have a compact SP01(99041), installed a Shadow 2 wide safety on mine.
The TSO/Czechmate  safety will need to be modified to not hit the slide release.

The Tactical Sport and Shadow 2 have thicker frames, the safety levers WILL NOT interchange with the thinner framed guns like the SP01 and compact.

If it's a 75 Compact then you would have a safety.

If it's a 75d PCR Compact then you would have a decocker.

The frame on the compacts are thicker on the top portion and thinner on the grip panel.

The aluminum frame guns such as the 75D PCR compact and the aluminum frame P-01 are wider than the steel frame guns such as the 75B compact.

They most certainly don't.
What you have is a steel framed P01 with safety, it's not a CZ 75 compact, and it's an uncommon pistol.

The PCR,P01 P01 steel frame, Shadow 2 and Tactical Sport pistols are all thicker framed guns.
The thicker framed safety levers that fit those thicker framed gun WILL NOT fit the thinner frame models like the regular compact.

That first batch of steel framed compacts that had the rail on the frame and ambidextrous thumb safeties were stamped CZ75 Compact on the slide.  I bought two of them.

At that time there were different safeties available.  The safeties I used look like the ones that came on the CZ75 SA pistols.  I don't know if they were exactly the same part number.  Been a few years.

Picture of one of mine I turned into a SAO compact.  There are threads here, should be able to find them with a search) that detailed the parts numbers used.  I didn't do them as I'm not the only one to convert one to SAO and I wasn't the first one.  I did used some of that info to get the right parts.

Original safeties.

I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?
