2024 P-01 Beavertail
« on: June 28, 2024, 04:18:27 PM »
Has anyone seen a new P-01 with a 2024 build date?  CZ's 2024 product catalog has a picture of one and it appears the beavertail is now larger and more upswept like on the full size SP-01.  I had P-01 a couple of years ago but sold it.  Liked the gun but I would get a blister on the back of my hand from the short beavertail after a couple of mags.

Looks like a bigger beavertail and a safety! From the EU catalog. I wonder if it will make it across the pond?

I kinda wish they'd call them something different.

A P01 has a decocking lever.

A P01 has ambidextrous thumb safeties.

The separated out the full sized CZ75's.

A CZ75 B has a single thumb safety (unless you run across the discontinued CZ75 SA or CZ75 B in .40 S&W.

A CZ75 BD has a decocking lever.

It would be less confusing for everyone if they'd followed a similar naming process with the P01 models.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

I just got a new P01 from CGW. The beavertail is exactly like my old PCR.

Mine is the decocker model.

While I like the looks of this longer and more up swept tail, it will cause the pistol to print more if concealed under a shirt.  Instead of a flat profile from the rear of the slide to the butt, that beaver tail will poke on a shirt or any light cover garment.  It may not be a big deal if worn really close into the body.  Bending over is where something like that would matter more.  It does look nice though!

The Czech site includes only the 75B and the P-01 (w/safety) in the 75 series, no other compacts or the 75BD. The P-01 looks like they used the same shape as the steel model. But they do expressly say it's still aluminum. Maybe they're paring down their product offerings in Europe.
