Steel surplus Vz58 mag?
« on: July 06, 2024, 10:49:21 AM »
Saw this ad from gunmagwarehouse. Confusing because the video says they’re “steel” but the text says they’re aluminum. So I emailed them and the response was that they’re indeed “steel” — but then said “the ad says they’re aluminum, but they’ll be ‘all metal’ at the end of the day” whatever that means. The pics look like the usual aluminum surplus mags, but black instead of the usual gray in color. If they’re actual steel, I’d be intrigued enough to buy some.

Has anyone bought any of these? The verdict?

Just looked at the link you posted, only says aluminum now, no mention of steel.

Yeah, looks like they took down the video where the guy claimed they were steel — which was pretty stupid because all you have to do is take a magnet to it if you have any doubts at all. The surplus mags are pretty obviously aluminum, anyway.

I find it amusing how many people don't know the difference between alloy, metal, steel and aluminum.

Yeah, weight in hand should be a dead giveaway.
