I recently bought a Kadet 2 kit and tried to install it on a P-01 Compact. When I tried to use the slide stop from the kit, the bolt could only move back about 1/4 inch at most. When I used the slide stop from the 9mm that came with the gun, the bolt would work fine to cock and shoot the gun, but the slide would not lock back after the last shot. To me, it was a hollow victory which satisfied me for 2 weeks. I figured that it was not what I paid for and wanted to fix it. I also figured that CZ wouldn't include parts, like the slide stop, that didn't work.
So I took off the slide and inserted the Kadet slide stop in the pistol to see how it worked.
I then looked at the magazine and noted that it was a 9mm exterior, with a .22 cal interior and a reach to get to the follower.
I inserted the magazine into the pistol to see how it interacted with the slide stop.
I measured the Kadet slide stop and compared it to the 9mm slide stop that worked and realized that I needed more room, both vertically and horizontally in the part of the slide stop that connects with the magazine, so I started filing these areas until the measurement was close to the 9mm measurements. When I finished, the Kadet kit slide stop now works, and holds the magazine back after the last shot.
