Please any advice on how much I should ask for my CZ 457 VPT first gen w/ 20" barrel ?   I plan to try to sell it locally, here and also another forum but not sure how much I should ask.

This rifle started as a regular 457 Varmint. I then bought & installed a VPT stock & a lilja barrel for it and also later bought a separate regular CZ 20" MTR Match barrel for it for factory matches. I just ordered a Kreiger barrel from Jon at Modacam, a new CZ 457 action (Had to buy a scout to get the action) & an MDT ACC chassis. I am keeping  the Lilja for another project.

I am selling it with a very lightly used CZ 20" MTR Match barrel for it. I have but no more room in my safe for the new Modocam rifle with the MDT Chassis and this 457 VPT. So it has to go. It in great condition, shoots great and I found it likes SK and Lapua.

I plan to sell the rifle with both the 20 MOA DIP pic rail and the bipod pic rail. The bipod, scope and rings are not included.

I would value any input on a fair price for it.

Thanks

If it were me, I’d start out at about 75%of what I had into it.  I know it’s a kick in the shorts, but custom of anything is a losing proposition in my experience.

Selling local limits the number of potential buyers for a gun that is already very select. Have you considered parting this out? Go on national long range forums and sell everything BUT the action. I’ve had better luck finding buyers who want to upgrade a gun then finding someone who is looking for a very particular build set. Then sell the action local. OR keep the action for a future build. It won’t take up much room in the safe.

Thank you for your suggestion.  I ended up selling it for exactly 75% of what I paid for it to a member at my club.  I rounded if off to an even $800.

We have a pretty active & fun group of rimfire shooters at our club and they all know this gun shoots so it was not hard.  The first friend I offered it to bought it :)

custom/modded guns are a crap shoot.

the gun was customized to your like and dislikes and you will find that your tastes are unique/different than others.

if you want add up all the parts and do a % of it.  Then work your way down after x may days/weeks/months of no takers.

If you could, put it back to OEM and sell the parts separately.

if you have any - good - targets with the appropriate info include that to the add/info but shot with the way the gun you plan to sell.

Also, if you really want to sell it, then price it to sell.   Yes, you may take it in the shorts, but you can then move on, maybe learn from this and then do your next project.

and if you are game, let the potential buyer have a chance to test drive it.  That may make a big difference.
