FO sight for accu-shadow
« on: August 26, 2024, 10:47:54 AM »
Recently had my shadow converted to the accu shadow at CZ custom with the shadow 2 rear sight added. A .125 width front sight was installed. Ordered a .090 from Dawson but it had vertical play. Evidently the front sight at CZC is fitted to be secure with the bushing installed. Does CZC make a more narrow FO sight for this pistol? Thx

What front sight did you get?  The shadow family has a 0.060 deep dovetail vs the regular 75 series has a 0.085 deep dovetail.  I'm not sure what height you ordered but Dawson SKU: 019-120 should get close with stock rear sight.  https://dawsonprecision.com/sight-for-cz-sp-01-pistols-fiber-optic-front-by-dawson-precision/

Cheers,

I had my accushadow milled for a dot and thus removed my stock front sight.  I took an old SP01 sight and ground off the post to eliminate any cowitness opportunity.  I was picking up the front fiber optic sight as the dot and it was messing with my eyes.  I now have no backup iron's on my competition rig.  I run the SRO so hopefully it holds up (has for almost two years now).

Come to think about it, the dummy sight base does just slide into and out of the dovetail easily.    I have to keep an eye on it when cleaning so I don't loose it.  I don't recall fitting it much, but maybe I did so it wouldn't be a pain to swap between the dot and iron's?

Maybe you will have to deform the dovetail on the new sight to give it an interference fit in the slide (assuming you have the correct dovetail sight already)?

Good Luck!
Toby

Hey Toby the front fiber optic sight was included in the build with CZC custom. Can’t remember the height but it’s taller to match the shadow 2 rear they also installed. Hoping CZC has a more narrow version other than .125. The Dawson versions do not butt up against the bushing for a rock solid fit and work loose.

Yes! They make one in .100 width. Couldn’t find on their website. Thanks Stuart!
