Gun/sight/ammo are fine.  Shooter needs work.

Enjoyed every bit of the video. I love how the CZ 97 shoots and thanks for sharing it with us.

Thanks for taking a look at the video.

Several things have helped me shoot a little more consistently lately:

1.  Weather has cooled off a little.
2.  New glasses have pretty much eliminated the eye fatigue.
3.  Other commitments have dropped off a little so I am able to shoot once/week again.
4.  I haven't made any changes to any firearms.  Boring but good for consistency.
5.  Camera gear is lined out pretty much so I fiddle with the video stuff less and less and focus on shooting.

Joe, I have always had a lot of trouble using a rest for pistol shooting. When I have tried it, I placed the dust cover on the rest. It seems to give me a different zero than just standing and shooting.

Does the way you do it work objectively better? Your groups are obviously speaking a lot for your method.

Curt--Great question.  I experimented quite a bit with different rest positions when I first tried shooting 100-200 yards from a rest.  At 100 yards, moving the gun 0.001 inch moves the hole around an inch.  Any change in muscle tension moves the gun.  With a muzzle rest, to get the gun aimed seemed to induce more forearm tension movement than just using a wrist rest.  I eventually changed the wrist rest to letting the butt of the gun sit on the block, which is what I do now.  It is very easy to aim the gun with very little tension change.  The other source of gun movement is the trigger pull itself.  I have added JB Weld, Sugru, and tennis racket grip tape on several of the guns to build up the grip areas specifically to get my trigger finger placement perfect for me on each gun.

As for the zero changing, for me, if I see a zero change between sitting and standing, it is likely to be due to a change in how I am gripping/aiming the gun, resulting in some trigger finger bias to one side or the other.  I don't shoot off hand very often, but my own trigger control is pretty good, so I don't see much difference.  In other words, I've shot paper at 100 yards from a rest, then moved over to the steel hanger and shot standing two handed and not seen a zero shift, that is, I've been able to hit the steel using the same hold point.  Then I've switched to single hand standing bullseye style and still been able to hit the steel.  Well, a time or two at least, LOL.   Ten years ago, I probably would see more variation between rest and standing.

Thanks, Joe.

It is best to explain a POI change to aiming error or trigger control error. Those are the 2 fundamental tasks. So it seems that your problem solving approach is ideal.

When grouping, I always pull the trigger slowly enough, only when the sight is on the desired POA, adding about a tenth of a pound at a time, to allow me to see the sight at all times before, during, and after the trigger break.

Even so, my rounds seem to go to a different place when using a muzzle rest. It may be a lens interaction issue if I'm not actually seated, but rather leaning down to the rest. I usually wear prescription glasses. However, I was trying to deduce whether it was somehow effecting the POI by placing the dust cover on the rest. It seems unlikely, given that the barrel is locked up with the slide. That being said, it is also locked to the frame by the slide stop.

I will give it another try this evening to see if using a wrist rest eliminates variables for me.

100 yds?  That's pretty good shooting, I'd say.
I have a 97BD in my safe that I've not shot in years.
I might dig it out for the next trip to the pistol range.

Good!  The only reason for posting these videos really is to get folks to get out and shoot their CZ pistols, maybe at some longer-than-usual distances.
