Might be a nice reliable accurate pistol.
How easy is to find the parts to upgrade it?
How easy to find the parts to maintain it?
I've heard a lot of bad stuff about Kimber reliability/quality over the years. Is that a thing of the past?
I like the magazine/round count options. Exactly like my Shield Plus. What do the Kimber mags. cost and how easy is it to stock up on them?
The rail is nice. The Shield Plus has no rail but uses the same lights/lasers as the Shield models.
I do like the ambidextrous controls. No such options for the Shield Plus pistols. Sooner or later that may be a small project for me to look at.
3.1" barrel is the same length as the standard Shield Plus but with the Plus you have the option of using the regular 4" Shield barrels/slides if you want a slightly longer barrel set up.
There are some CSX (M&P) owners on the forum I belong to but many of them are not happy with that pistol. Reliability and accuracy issues, no OR models, lights/holsters availability, etc. Up to this point I've never even thought of buying one just to see if it works. It may be similar to the new Kimber but I don't think I'd buy one to try it out (the CSX I mean).
The metal frame thing is just a "fashion" gimmick. Just like clothes, car body shapes, etc. It's the new hot thing! Oh, that's out of fashion, this is the new hot thing! A few later that first hot thing that went out of fashion is once again, the new hot thing. I didn't care for polymer frames when I was buying/trying Glocks, XDMs, the 1.0 M&Ps, etc. But the P07 and P09 showed me accuracy issues were not due to the polymer frames. It's not about what the frame is made from. It's about reliability and accuracy. And can I get repair parts or upgrade parts.
