Blazer aluminum

I’ve heard it said here that one is not supposed to use Aluminum cased ammo in the Scorpion.  (Some also say the same with steel). 

Does it somehow raise the OOBD risk?  How does that work?

Or is it ‘more unsafe’ if an OOBD occurs.

Just saw a pic of a blown up Scorpion and it had a brass case in it.

I don't actually believe that OOB is a plague for the Scorpion.

I also don't see how Al cased ammo somehow increases that risk.

But open to evidence or reason.  Just asking for it.  So Stop.

I do not know the answer to the question. I would like to add that cmmg says not to use aluminum in their rifles and kits. I built an ar9 using a cmmg bcg and barrel kit. Went to the range with various ammo like I always do with a new gun. Forgot their warning about aluminum. The rounds came out crushed and the next round bent. Still clueless i tried to keep shooting aluminum and got the same results back to back. At that point it wouldn't even run brass. Failure to eject and load next round. Stripped down the bcg to clean it and that helped a little. I then noticed the bottom the bcg had some small gashes. I lightly sanded it smooth and has been running flawless since.

Aluminum is definitely softer then the metal the bcg is made of. So how it caused that damage and issues I'm not sure. cmmg knows more then me so no more aluminum.

Very odd and did not know that about CMMG.  I have their Banshee in x39 and it runs steel case like a champ with MP mags.

I started the thread cuz I remember a few on here warned against using it in the Scorpion and I have a bunch of Al cased ammo, and started to wonder - then when I searched I can only find threads of people saying 'dont use Al cased..." with nothing to back it up. 

So, I asked.

BTW - Blazer Al, has been flawless for thousands of rounds for me in my CZs and other guns.  In fact, better than the Blazer brass for me. 

In my Scorpion, I have used it in the past, and steel cased ammo with no problem.

I’ve always regarded Blazer AL cased ammo as garbage. Have seen too many cases blow up in semi auto pistols.

Not sure why the mods haven’t moved this to Ammunition already.🙄

A friend of mine with a hearty collection of SMG's frequently shoots Blazer Aluminum through his weapons without issue. These include a British Sterling, a German MP40, and a Danish Madsen M50.
I've also used plenty of it through all of my 9mm handguns without issue, where I could not scavenge my Brass.  Still prefer my own reloads to it, but there are times where it's an alternative.

I’ve heard this mentioned many times - try a couple boxes.  If you don’t have problems with that gun, you are fine.  Also if aluminum caused widespread problems, manufacturers wouldn’t be producing it.

Just so people know the context - this has to do only with the SCORPION EVO and other blow backs. 

I HAVE run some in my Scorpion no problems...  I think JWC put it to bed.

(I had heard some WARN against it here, and other places, so I wanted to run it to ground).

I've run plenty of Blazer Al in my pistols also with NO issues and it seems better than most.
