My P-01 hurts my tender fingers
« on: March 20, 2025, 11:30:42 PM »
I just got a P-01 Omega and like it a lot, but the serrations on the front strap hurt my fingers. There are half a dozen vertical grooves cut into the front strap for improved grip and those things are sharp! I don't want to sand or file them down, but I wondered if I could fill them in with something so the surface will be smooth. The first thing I thought of was JB Weld, but I'm afraid that will create a mess that will be hard to remove. Does anyone have any ideas?

There are a lot of versions of "Grip Tape" available. Coarse as unfinished concrete to some as smooth as electrical tape.  In fact you may want to try a narrow strip of Scotch Brand electrical to see how much it
 helps.

Or one of those stretchy rubber "sleeves" that you pull up over the grip frame to get a better grip on a slick pistol.  It would cover the front serrations as well as the rest of the grip but still give you a very good grip on the frame for shooting it.

This M&P 1.0 .40 subcompact has a very slick frame/grip.  No texture at all like the usual frames.  I had to trim this sleeve to get it short enough to work on the subcompact but it's very "grippy".  They can be bought off amazon, ebay, and lots of on line vendors/stores carry them as well.

I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

This is a common complaint and an easy fix.  Swap it out for an 85 style trigger.
